Live Whipping!

This is it, the weekend that live whipping comes to Nottingham, home of the Vodka Whip. Tomorrow evening 2 lucky whippers will be heading to the Rescue Rooms to see the Gods of Cock Tyketto.

No doubt Forever Young will inspire numerous live leanbacks, throats will become hoarse and air guitars will be wielded. Shame that a full whip attendance couldn't be mustered, it is about time for another full whip me thinks...

Yet that is not all, one of those whippers will do it all again in London on Monday, then spend 2 nights seeing Brit-cock-rockers Skin on Tuesday and Wednesday, what a week!

Still very jealous of those of you heading to Download next week though.

Forever Young, time on our side....

More Cock Rock than you can shake a stick at

Amazing, cock rock is back with a vengence. Not only does this years Download include a whole day (and more) of Vodka Whip approved bands - including Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, but it has also tempted British cock rock legends Skin into reforming. See the Download Festival website for details.

What's more they are playing 3 warm-up shows, 2 at the 100 Club in London on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th June, followed by another at Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall on the Thursday. Tickets available at See Tickets.

Yet that is not all, the cock rock legends that are Tyketto also play some UK dates in June, including Nottingham on Saturday 6th and Islington Academy on Monday 8th. Vodka Whip obviously aim to have a presence at those 2 dates at least. There are also shows in Wolverhampton and Southampton. See the Tyketto website for more dates in Sweden and the States (check the news section as they haven't updated the front page yet).

Sadly Thunder have decided to call it a day, but there is a last chance to catch them on their farewell tour in July. See the Thunder website
for more details, some shows still have a few tickets left.

And yet we have even more, Tigertailz will make an appearance in October, including a date at London's Borderline on Saturday 10th, and The Quireboys will be about in December, with Wolfsbane in tow.

Finally, despite disappointment that the Caldicot Castle Park Rock Fest has been cancelled, there is another festival that has come on to the radar, and it is actually called the Cock Rock festival, possibly for slightly different reasons, but we just had to give it a mention. More at the Cockermouth Rock Festival website.

I think that's all for now, well apart from a recommendation to check out Heaven's Basement as they venture around the UK over the next few weeks, they are an awesome live band and worthy tips for the title nu-cock (which we have just made up, but the kids had nu-metal so why not?).

Apologies for the lack of activity but we unfortunately have other aspects of life we have to attend to!

Keep on rockin'
