The Ultimate Vodka Whip Band....Ever

Here it is, the ultimate Vodka Whip band ever created. Not only playing some of the finest cock rock tunes crafted, but also featuring members of Vodka Whip endorsed bands, including the King of the Gods, the one and only Danny Vaughn!

They are The 80's Rocked! band. They are playing the Cambridge Rock Festival on Thursday 5th August, one whipper was ecstatic to discover that CAMRA members can get in free on the Thursday and is still to be revived, although this may also be down to mixing his real ale and vodka again...

However, this is the band that any whipper needs to see. They could only be better if they included Forever Young, Don't Treat Me Bad, Dirty Love and Bang Bang in their set, sadly though all those were released in the early 90's.

Tour dates follow in October and November:
26th October, Moho Live, Manchester
30th October, Hall for Cornwall, Truro, Cornwall
31st October, Central Station, Wrexham, Wales
4th November, Central Theatre, Chatham, Kent
5th November 2010, Epsom Playhouse, Epsom, Surrey
6th November 2010, Corn Exchange, Cambridge
15th November 2010, The Journal Tyne Theatre, Newcastle
16th November 2010, The Robin, Bilston, West Midlands

This whipper needs a lie down, the excitement is too much!

Live Whipping!

This is it, the weekend that live whipping comes to Nottingham, home of the Vodka Whip. Tomorrow evening 2 lucky whippers will be heading to the Rescue Rooms to see the Gods of Cock Tyketto.

No doubt Forever Young will inspire numerous live leanbacks, throats will become hoarse and air guitars will be wielded. Shame that a full whip attendance couldn't be mustered, it is about time for another full whip me thinks...

Yet that is not all, one of those whippers will do it all again in London on Monday, then spend 2 nights seeing Brit-cock-rockers Skin on Tuesday and Wednesday, what a week!

Still very jealous of those of you heading to Download next week though.

Forever Young, time on our side....

More Cock Rock than you can shake a stick at

Amazing, cock rock is back with a vengence. Not only does this years Download include a whole day (and more) of Vodka Whip approved bands - including Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, but it has also tempted British cock rock legends Skin into reforming. See the Download Festival website for details.

What's more they are playing 3 warm-up shows, 2 at the 100 Club in London on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th June, followed by another at Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall on the Thursday. Tickets available at See Tickets.

Yet that is not all, the cock rock legends that are Tyketto also play some UK dates in June, including Nottingham on Saturday 6th and Islington Academy on Monday 8th. Vodka Whip obviously aim to have a presence at those 2 dates at least. There are also shows in Wolverhampton and Southampton. See the Tyketto website for more dates in Sweden and the States (check the news section as they haven't updated the front page yet).

Sadly Thunder have decided to call it a day, but there is a last chance to catch them on their farewell tour in July. See the Thunder website
for more details, some shows still have a few tickets left.

And yet we have even more, Tigertailz will make an appearance in October, including a date at London's Borderline on Saturday 10th, and The Quireboys will be about in December, with Wolfsbane in tow.

Finally, despite disappointment that the Caldicot Castle Park Rock Fest has been cancelled, there is another festival that has come on to the radar, and it is actually called the Cock Rock festival, possibly for slightly different reasons, but we just had to give it a mention. More at the Cockermouth Rock Festival website.

I think that's all for now, well apart from a recommendation to check out Heaven's Basement as they venture around the UK over the next few weeks, they are an awesome live band and worthy tips for the title nu-cock (which we have just made up, but the kids had nu-metal so why not?).

Apologies for the lack of activity but we unfortunately have other aspects of life we have to attend to!

Keep on rockin'

Tyketto Back on the Road!

Following hard on the heels of the Nottingham whip last weekend, a couple of lucky whippers will be off to FireFest next weekend to see a bill including the legends that are Tyketto, Firehouse and Danger Danger. A weekend of pure rock heaven!

Tyketto have also announced that they will be touring Europe in January, dates have still to be confirmed, Vodka Whip will keep you updated. There is also talk of South American gigs in May, does anyone know of any cheap flights heading that way?

The Whip on Tour is also close to new dates, negotiations are ongoing with Sheffield, London and Manchester likely destinations, while we are looking for confirmation of a suitable new venue in Birmingham.

Grand National - Vodka Whip's big tip(ple)

Vodka Whip just could not resist a flutter on the Aintree Grand National this year, not with a horse named Vodka Bleu in the running.

Well worth a shot at 50/1 we think, probably best to back each way though. Shop around some online bookies are offering a pay out on the first 5 (the first 4 is standard), although you may have to accept slightly shorter odds to get paid for 5th place.

There you go then, Vodka Whip suggests Vodka Bleu in the Grand National, Aintree, 4:15pm today (Saturday 5th April), live on BBC1.

Breaking News: Tyketto at FireFest 2008

Direct from Danny Vaughn's MySpace:

Yes it has been confirmed. Danny and the guys will play Firefest at Nottingham Rock City on the 25th of October. They are playing 2nd night of 3 this year with Jeff Scott Soto, Pink Cream 69, Tony Harnell (ex TNT) and others on the same night

It seems they just can't keep away! This is a very good thing, Vodka Whip hopes that many of it's members will be able to make FireFest this year.
